.SYNOPSIS...
High pressure will lead to dry but cold conditions through the
weekend. For the remainder of the upcoming week, there will be
occasional chances for rain along with a gradual warming trend.

.NEAR TERM /THROUGH TODAY/...
Northwest flow aloft with a large surface high building across
the Great Lakes. Favorable fetch off of Lake Michigan. This has
resulted in considerable cloudiness with a few flurries into
the early evening. With the low level flow backing more westerly
clouds to decrease overnight - leading to clearing skies. The
clearing skies and light winds will lead to cold temperatures.
Lows tonight will be in the mid teen to around 20.

.SHORT TERM /TONIGHT THROUGH 6 PM MONDAY/...
Surface high pressure will shift slowly east of the area Sunday
into Sunday night with some weak return flow beginning to
develop. This will result in mostly sunny skies on Sunday with
mostly clear to partly cloudy skies Sunday night. Temperatures
will remain below normal with highs on Sunday ranging from the
upper 20s northeast to the mid 30s in the southwest. Lows
Sunday night will be in the upper teens to mid 20s.

.LONG TERM /MONDAY NIGHT THROUGH SATURDAY/...
A low pressure system will move through the Great Lakes on Monday
into Monday night. While the Ohio Valley is southeast of the low on
Monday, breezy southwesterly flow will allow temperatures to
moderate into the middle 40s south of I-70 to near 40 north of I-70.
On Monday night, a cold front associated with the low moves through
the Ohio Valley bringing a chance for rain. QPF remains on the low
side since forcing is not lined up well with PWATs.

The rest of the week will feature slowly moderating temperatures and
low end rain chances. On Tuesday, highs reach into the 40s for most
locations and by Saturday highs reach all the way into the 50s which
is well above average for late December. Winds begin the week
southwesterly before veering more to the southeast which could help
lower precipitation from current probabilities with some downsloping
from the Appalachians.

.AVIATION /06Z SUNDAY THROUGH THURSDAY/...
Bkn-ovc VFR sky cover aoa 4kft will be found over CMH/LCK
through daybreak with cloud cover exiting DAY and ILN in the
next 1-3 hours. CVG and LUK will be clear or with few/sct cu.

A light and variable wind will pick up slightly from the se this
morning around 5-6kt. Diurnal winds will continue from the sse
at DAY with a tightening pressure gradient ahead of a cold
front, but still remaining 7-8kt through the night.

Fair weather cu topped with some cirrus clouds will be the VFR
rule for the day.

OUTLOOK...MVFR/IFR conditions likely Monday night, persisting
into Tuesday. MVFR/IFR ceilings possible Wednesday into
Thursday.
